Business leader, philanthropist and investor Arif Efendi has a career in the banking and financial services industry spanning 15 years, working in positions up to and including senior management roles. Raised in the US, Mr Efendi is now located in the UK.
Private Investment
Arif Efendi is the principal of a single-family office located in London. Here his primary responsibility is the oversight of private investments in the Western hemisphere across a variety of sectors including technology, sports, FMCG, and hospitality and leisure. He also heads up the asset management arm of the business, which includes long-short equities products as well as longer-term private capital solutions and deployments.
Career History
From 2016, Mr Efendi served as a consultant for the specialist advisory firm ADCO Advisory Company, acting in this capacity for nearly two years. This company offers funding solutions and strategic counsel to UK-based businesses regarding financial services investments and commercial litigation.
Mr Efendi held a principal position at an international commodities trading and investment business from 2011 to 2016, which included managing a global commodities trading book. He had previously worked at Standard Bank, where he started his career in financial services and banking on the African Equities desk within the Global Markets team from August 2010 as part of an internship and subsequent graduate programme.
Philanthropy
Arif Efendi studied at Vermont’s Norwich University, one of the country’s leading military colleges, graduating in 2009 with a bachelor’s degree in business administration (BBA). In 2021, he donated $200,000 to his former university’s Bicentennial campaign to name its Mack Hall atrium after former dean of the School of Business and Management Frank Vanecek. Professor Vanecek, and the college as a whole, had a profoundly positive impact on Mr Efendi’s life, teaching him invaluable life lessons and helping him step outside his comfort zone. As well as the $200,000 gift, he made further monthly donations of $500 to Norwich University to support its aim of positioning itself at the forefront of technical innovation and education.

Outside of work, Mr Efendi has a keen interest in football and fantasy football. He cites some of his key strengths as new business development, developing marketing strategies, financial modelling, strategic planning and contract negotiation. He is proud of his proven track record of turning his passions into business realities.
